Sunburst Shutters Company History: How We Brought Custom Shutters to Boston
Sunburst Shutters was established in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who thought they could make a better shutter than any other in the US.
The goal to be the best shutter company has transformed every aspect of the window treatment industry. Sunburst started offering an in-home consultation where design specialists brought samples into a customer’s house to walk them through picking the best window treatment product. On top of that, Sunburst set out to hire sales staff that were courteous and friendly – and, at the same time, experienced and helpful. Homeowners across the nation fell in love with Sunburst Shutters fast.
In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the common window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters gave consumers a longer lasting and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters.
Originally, the company offered wood shutters only. But it was instantly obvious that Sunburst should make the ultimate shutter – one that provides superior energy efficiency, and looks as exquisite 20 years from now as the day you bought it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst announced the creation of Polywood Shutters.
Once Sunburst offered the first class shutters in the industry, they grew extensively, opening locations across the US. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters extended its offerings into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
Now, Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions offers any treatment for any size or shape of window – all custom-built and professionally installed. With over 2,000 window treatment choices and options, Sunburst is the absolute source of window treatment products in America.
